NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to California Government Code Section 1780 that a vacancy exists on the Goleta West Sanitary District’s Board of Directors for a term ending December 4, 2026.  Please visit our website for additional information at https://www.goletawest.org

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the District Board will consider filling the vacancy by appointment at a regular District Board meeting to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Interviews of applicants shall occur at said meeting.

Candidates for this position must be registered voters residing within District 4 of Goleta West Sanitary District, be at least 18 years of age, and not have convictions for specified crimes.

Serving on the board will require a commitment to attend Board Meetings, which are held once or twice a month, and Committee Meetings.  Other requirements include, but are not limited to, completing Ethics Training (per AB 1234), Sexual Harassment Training  (per AB 1825), and filing an annual Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700).

The Goleta West Sanitary District was formed in 1954 under the Sanitary District Act of 1923. The District provides award-winning service in wastewater collection and treatment for our customers – the citizens and businesses of Western Goleta Valley and Isla Vista.
